The Balkans
In spring 2010, me and my sister did a trip around South-Eastern Europe. I had wanted to see Albania for years, and finally I worked up the courage to explore this oh-so-dangerous country on my own (and with my sister, of course). The land of the Shqiptars turned out to be a beautiful country with wonderful people, not in the least bit dangerous (except maybe for the waistline - they have great icecream!), but striving, thriving and well worth a visit. As is each and every part of the Balkans, but I particularly loved Macedonia. It really deserves its nickname, Pearl of the Balkans. Below, you see me at Sveti Naum, on Lake Ohrid.
